Supported Employment - In-house service for learning disabled students
OWL is part of the STEnG Supported Employment Service* dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities from the partner groups progress into work – whether it be full time, part time, paid or voluntary.
A dedicated STEnG supported employment advisor provides the following support for students, as appropriate:

Travel training

Visits to potential employers and volunteering opportunities

Trial work experience placements

*This service was formerly known as Phoenix Employ. It is still linked with Papworth’s Supported Employment Service ‘Work-4-You’.
Supported Employment Placements at OWL Bikes
OWL Bikes provides a number of supported employment opportunities which are time-limited and paid, for people who are unemployed through disability, ill health or some other disadvantage, and wish to return to the world of work.
The gateway to supported employment placements is through Job Centre Plus, Papworth Trust, Reed, etc who are contracted to operate the government schemes such as New Deal, Pathways to Employment and WorkStep.
