Volunteering at OWL
Do you fancy getting out and meeting people?
Do you have some time to spare?
Even 2 hours a week could help make a difference!
Here are a few of the ways you could help
- Helping students in the OWL Café
- Delivering hot meals to the elderly – Meals-2-You
- Driving the van to collect unwanted bicycles
- Building bicycles – training given!
- Helping the students with their gardening at Sawston Village College
- Helping students learn to weave, do woodwork, recycling, use the computers, go to the gym, etc…
You don’t need any qualifications, only time, patience and a good sense of humour.

“I volunteer to deliver Meals-2-You to older folk in this community who cannot cook for themselves. It allows them to stay in their own home which is important for their well being.” Sheila Blackwell

“I enjoy volunteering at OWL as I get the opportunity to support adults with learning difficulties by helping them to understand money and healthy eating.” Jayne Merrick

“We enjoy volunteering at OWL as it takes you out to meet new people and to help our community …we find everybody in the OWL Café very friendly with happy smiley faces.”
Janice and John Newton.
